Thanks to the Concord Monitor for this reminder of why I love teaching comics! I’m so grateful for each opportunity to work creatively with all these great teachers and students, exploring this amazing medium.

We’re in the middle of the big Fall Comics Workshop Manga residency here in Henniker, and it’s great to see the entire sixth grade turning on to the awesome characters, stories, and artwork of a distant land. (Stay tuned for student artwork soon.) I’ve been enjoying learning more about the Japanese artforms that laid the groundwork for manga, such as Ukiyo-E and Kimibashai. This is fascinating stuff!
