Short Bio

Marek Bennett is a comics creator and educator from New Hampshire. His self-syndicated weekly comic strip, Mimi’s Doughnuts appears in New England newspapers, and his Comics Workshops teach valuable comics discovery techniques to students of all ages.

Longer Bio

Marek is an experienced educator with Highly Qualified Teacher status. He has taught homeroom grades 3-6, as well as middle school science, and music and Spanish for grades K-8. His Comics Workshops teach comics production and publication skills for all ages in an active, discovery-based learning environment.

Marek’s self-syndicated comic strip Mimi’s Doughnuts appears weekly in New England newspapers. It tells the epic story of a family-run doughnut shop in rundown Claymont, NH.

Marek lives in New Hampshire with his wife Denise, his step-daughter Faith, his little brother Ross, and about a jillion little furry creatures of various species.
